Mother and Child Project (MnCP) is a Social Enterprise, founded by Ms Anna Tsang, which provides retail training and home-based sewing work to disadvantaged women, single mothers, and women recovering from psychiatric conditions. Our mission is to help our beneficiaries become economically self-sufficient through innovative product creation, and competency in retail skills so that they can reintegrate well into the community.

Through the years, we have helped many families. Let us share two stories with you.

Laura’s Story
After I lost my husband, it was difficult for me to cope as a single mother with two active young children, one nine year child with autism. I had to be the sole breadwinner as well as full-time caregiver for my children.

Being 44 years old, it was almost impossible to find a job that offered flexible time. The opportunity to work for MnCP has not only benefited me financially but emotionally. I feel strengthened as I can use my sewing skills and creativity. It provides me with the opportunity to do to do what I love to do as well as take care of those I love, MnCP is an answer to my prayer, truly a blessing to me and my children.

Baldeep’s Story
I was the first mother to graduate from the MnCP dressmaking Course. I have two dyslexic sons. The course gave me an opportunity to be photographed with the Prime Minister which was one of the highlights of my life. Due to my ill health and age, I had difficulty securing a job. With the MnCP, I am able to work from home.

Over the years, we have developed a range of products which are iconic like the Samsui Woman series.

We are also able to customise and produce unique eco-friendly gifts to meet your specific needs, preferences and budget.

We welcome donations of cloth and clothes; denim, silk, batik and cotton, to create new products. We also welcome cash donations. If you have any questions about donations, please email us at
